Updated: Halo’s Matchmaking Fixes are in the Works
I can’t quite say this is the one I’ve been waiting for —that’s Halo 3—but Halo 2 joined the Master Chief Collection on PC Tuesday night, and it’s an ideal place to start really devoting time to Halo’s online multiplayer. It’s still fun, but not a game I’d dump hours of time into. Halo 2, even after 15 years, feels just deep enough.
It’s still the kind of multiplayer game that can demands precision aiming, tight teamwork, and intricate map knowledge to master. This is the moment on PC many Halo fans have been waiting for and after a few hours of testing I can say that if you plan to jump in now, be prepared to run into some bugs.

If you’ve somehow missed out on all the drama, the short and sweet version is that Halo: The Master Chief Collection was not as well-received as fans and surely Microsoft would have hoped back in This, by the way, is what is known as “putting things lightly”. Nearly 4 years ago, I started a blog post called ” Ship Broken. Patch Later “, it was a draft that never went public describing the frustration of the video game industry back then. Major AAA title games launched with serious problems that took months to years to resolve. It was a bleak time for the game, but patches kept coming in hopes to fix the bleeding pig. The list above shows that tried to fix things. A patch basically weekly for 6 straight weeks. These patches did fix some of the most crazy bugs this game suffered.
Releases kept coming, including some patches that had features! This was an apology to the world for the absolute mess that was Halo MCC.

Halo Matchmaking is working from South Africa! Patch after patch and the matchmaking issues persisted. South Africans are unable to join a multiplayer Halo: The Masterchief though matchmaking. No amount of patching will fix it though. The most egregious bit of all of this is that Microsoft South Africa is aware of the issues and the IP restrictions in place — and I think they should at the very least be selling physical copies of the game with some sort of a warning sticker, with a similar notice on the digital versions in the Xbox store.
The problem, obviously, is with the precedent that this sets.

Halo 5 matchmaking issue
The Halo support team also revealed they had been made aware of issues surrounding certain control settings affecting Halo 2: Anniversary and Halo 4, and were looking to have a fix in-time to be included in the next update. Local split-screen players will now always be on the same team in Halo 2 Matchmaking. Made an update to allow players to use Voice Chat during loading screens in Matchmaking. Made an update to ensure that players are not forced into an incorrect party after encountering an issue in Matchmaking.
Changes to the roster will be more immediate to better reflect friend activity. Resolved an issue where players that were in a party could not join another party from the Roster.
When it is ready, we will flight to test the fixes we can make prior to earlier today and the audio is the worst of ANY game I have ever played. Once I’m in a game, it’s fine, but when I’m matchmaking it keeps kicking me out.
Video game developer Industries announced that it is delaying a patch fix that is meant to resolve the issues on the multiplayer matchmaking version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The announcement was made on the official Halo Waypoint site. The patch is meant to deliver a number of fixes across the game title, which include matchmaking performance issues, game stability and general UI.
These issues have been affecting game players since the title was launched last week. The update deployed to matchmaking was done on the server side and does not require an extra download to your Xbox One.
